London & Middlesex Branch invites you to join us on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 10 a.m. for a Zoom presentation:

“Understanding and Making the most of your Family Photos” with speaker, Stephen Gill.

Stephen Gill, F.R.P.S.

Stephen Gill (Lancashire, UK) has been a photographer for over 50 years, rising to being awarded Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society and Accredited Senior in Imaging in the Creative Industries in 2020. He has been a photo restorer for twenty years and also has a Post Graduate degree to teach photography. His first book “The Family Detective: a forensic guide to the history of family photography” was published in 2021 and his second “Dating By Design” is due out on the 18th of December this year.

When you look at an old photo, what do you see? A long departed relative, or a time capsule that can enthrall, educate and entertain? By really looking in detail at your old photos, you will see your ancestors in a new way and understand their lives like never before. We will cover a brief history of photographic processes and how to recognize them, but most importantly, how to analyze old photos to tell the story behind them.

The event is free and all are welcome to attend and share this with your friends and family. Registration is required.
