The London & Middlesex branch is pleased to invite you to join us on Saturday, Oct 3, 2026, at 10 am for our monthly hybrid event, with the Co-Founders of Newspaper Finder, Matthew Wheeler and Mitchell Lewis, who will be joining us virtually.
A bit about our Speakers:
Matthew M. Wheeler is a genealogist, software developer, and co-founder of Newspaper Finder. He specializes in identifying overlooked historical records and collections, and connecting researchers with historical sources that might otherwise remain hidden. His interests also include the history and evolution of genealogy software and digital research tools.
Mitchell A. Lewis is a Certified Genealogist® specializing in Eastern European and Mid-Atlantic research. In 2023, he co-founded Newspaper Finder alongside Matthew Wheeler. His work focuses on resolving complex genealogical case studies involving conflicting evidence, limited re

cord availability, and endogamy. In addition to his genealogical work, Mitchell is currently a Ph.D. candidate at George Washington University studying experimental nuclear physics.
About the Topic:
Learn how understanding the historical newspaper landscape—and using tools like Newspaper Finder to locate overlooked collections—can uncover new sources and improve research outcomes. This session explains the difference between searching a newspaper platform and searching the historical newspaper record, helping attendees find newspapers they might otherwise never discover.
This is a hybrid meeting, so you may attend in person, or virtually – your choice. Registration is required for those planning to attend virtually. Attendance is free and open to all.
Link to register (virtual): https://bit.ly/LMOA-Oct2026 (please note: Bit.ly may redirect you – if so, click “Continue” and you will be taken to the registration page to proceed)
Once registered, a confirmation email will be sent with the meeting details.
For those attending in person, we invite you to stay after the meeting for refreshments and to socialize. The London Familysearch Center (formerly the Family History Centre), located in the building, will also be open until 12 pm to allow you to do some research. Note: coffee and tea are not permitted in the facility.
