London & Middlesex Branch invites you to join us on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 10 a.m. for a Zoom presentation: “Beginning Scottish Research”

Speaker, Emma Maxwell, is a genealogist based in Central Scotland. She runs the popular Scottish genealogy resource website along with her husband and fellow genealogist, Graham Maxwell. Their website offers free indexes to Scotland’s Criminal Database, Scottish Mental Health Records, the Scottish Paternity Index and more. A researcher with nearly 20 years of experience, Emma also undertakes ‘brickwall’ research, solving puzzles that have stumped family historians so that they can continue with their research.

We all have to start our research somewhere. In this presentation, we will focus on the basic records such as post-1855 birth, death and marriage records on ScotlandsPeople. We will learn what information is recorded and how to search these records. We will also look at some money-saving tips on ScotlandsPeople by understanding references.

The event is free and all are welcome to attend and share this with your friends and family. Registration is required. To register, visit
