The London & Middlesex branch is pleased to invite you to join us on Saturday, Sep 5, 2026, at 10 am for our monthly hybrid event, with Family Historian, Historical House Researcher, Eleanor J. Rath, who will be joining us in person.

A bit about our Speaker: Eleanor J. Rath

Eleanor Rath’s love of old homes began while growing up in a turn-of-the-century brick farmhouse with stained-glass windows, a slate roof and pocket doors.

Now retired from a career in local government, she fills her days with historical house research.  To date, Eleanor has traced the history of more than 100 properties for ACO London’s Historical House Sign program.  Using her experience in London-Middlesex, Eleanor is here to share some tips and tricks for researching a home and the tools used to identify the people who lived there.

About the Topic:

  • Have you ever wondered how to date your house or find out who lived there?
  • Do you have ancestors who lived on a property, but aren’t sure how to research it?
  • Learn some tips and tricks on how to trace the history of a house as well as the tools used to identify the people who lived there.

This is a hybrid meeting, so you may attend in person, or virtually – your choice. Registration is required for those planning to attend virtually. Attendance is free and open to all.

Link to register (virtual): https://bit.ly/LMOA-Sep2026 (please note: Bit.ly may redirect you – if so, click “Continue” and you will be taken to the registration page to proceed)

Once registered, a confirmation email will be sent with the meeting details.

For those attending in person, we invite you to stay after the meeting for refreshments and to socialize. The London Familysearch Center (formerly the Family History Centre), located in the building, will also be open until 12 pm to allow you to do some research. Note: coffee and tea are not permitted in the facility.
